Can you fall in love with someone you've never met, never even spoken to – someone who is light years away? Romy Silvers is the only surviving crew-member of a spaceship travelling to a new planet, on a mission to establish a second home for humanity. Alone in space, she is the loneliest girl in the universe until she hears about a new ship which has launched from Earth – with a single passenger on board. A boy called J. Their only communication is via email – and due to the distance between them, their messages take months to transmit. And yet Romy finds herself falling in love, but what does she really know about J?

I picked up The Loneliest Girl in the Universe on a whim. It was sitting on my Kindle as I was browsing my books to read at the park the other weekend.

I ended up devouring this book in a matter of hours.

It was quite the addictive read. I enjoyed Romy's voice, and I love most stories set in space. I quite enjoyed the pacing of the book, and it felt like a very easy read. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because it wasn't exactly page gripping nor did it fill me with many emotions. And a little because I wanted more at the ending. In fact, I really wanted a second book that carried on this story because I feel like there's a separate story that could be told with a new character.

Either way, this was a great easy read, and it was very enjoyable if you're looking for something light and quick.
