This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Lisa and Melissa for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I absolutely loved the first 2 books in the Steele's series which is also set on Silver Island so I was very excited to return.
This is the first book in the Silver Harbor series. Abby has just returned to the island and Aiden is on holiday. Aiden has been in the background of a few of Melissa's previous books and I've been rooting for him to get his story..
Aiden is a true gentleman. Bringing up his little sister has shown him how to be a great partner. He has learnt how to listen and remember. He takes in everything Abby says, even when she is speaking a mile a minute, and remembers everything she says. He shows he not only listens but that he cares, in the things he does for her.
Abby is fiercely independent. She has been relying on herself since she was 9 years old and she's not about to start relying on anyone now. She is determined to make her dreams come true. I really liked Abby. She is so strong and hard-working.
I loved Abby's sisters, Cait and Dee. I also loved their group of friends. Cait really started to come out of her shell towards the end and Dee is going to be such fun when she finally takes a break from work. The bonfire and the dinner they all have together are such great scenes. They really show what a community Silver Island is.
Melissa captured my attention from the beginning and I got swept up in the romance of this story. The island is such a romantic location. I could spend so much time discovering new places and getting swept up by island fever. I can't wait for more books set on this beautiful island. There are so many people that have a story to tell here and I want to hear them all.
