The Assassin and the Healer are about 40+ pages long, so it didn’t long to read. This will be another short review because I don’t want to give anything away.
Celaena Sardothien challenged her master in the last novella by freeing all the slaves he acquired from the Pirate Lord. Now, she is being forced into the desert for her punishment. In the meantime, though, she’s waiting to board the boat she needs to get there and decides to stay for people to pick a fight with her. The barmaid, Yrene, introduced in this novella (actually appears later in the series again), doesn’t want to get involved with the mysterious girl (Celaena). Still, one night she finds herself in danger, and the mysterious girl helps her out.
The Assassin and the Healer is a quick read. It didn’t take me long to finish. It introduces a new character, Yrene, who was interesting to get to know. I wish I could’ve had a longer novella, though. It started slow and then got action-packed. Readers will get to see how dangerous Celaena is in this novella.
Would I recommend this novella? Yes. Overall, this novella receives 3.5-stars, and I recommend it if you want to get to know Yrene.
