West Coast Avengers consistently surprises me and makes me laugh, and I absolutely adore that about this series. Also, it’s thanks to this series that I ship Gwen and Quentin – something I would never have expected to hear myself say. Seriously.
This issue was fantastic. It wrapped up the current plot, had lots of great character interactions, and even hinted at a few bigger things going on behind the scenes. It was perfection.
Okay, I may be somewhat biased. The Gwenpool moments in this issue were absolutely amazing and so spot on. I can really see why the team would be driven nuts by her – but at the same time they kind of need the help too much to pass her up. At least she keeps them on their toes? Though I really do think she’s going to break Quentin.
There was one element of this whole plot that was really intelligently done. The way everyone’s abilities/attention was distrupted? It seems to be magical at first, but when the real cause is revealed it made so much sense. And I absolutely adore the way they showed us what it was. It was really quite clever.
