In Coming Home for Christmas, we meet Sophie and Thomas. Sophie was living abroad when her husband was killed in an auto accident. Six months later, she and her daughter, Lily, have returned to her English hometown for a fresh start. Thomas is a divorced father of three who is helping Sophie renovate her new home.

While Sophie and Thomas are developing their relationship, we also see Sophie dealing with other strained relationships, specifically with her mother and sister. This is a sweet story, but very short. After finishing the book, I almost felt like I had read a really fun proposal for a book versus a completed work. This story has a great set up and many opportunities to be explored. Romantic relationships, sisters, mother/daughter, and blending families, are just a few of the themes the author touches on briefly that could easily be expanded on the make a very nice full length novel.
