To be fair, this book isn't terrible, but it does nothing spectacular either. It gives a very shallow, brush on the surface of what it means to have a faith in Christ.
For a new believer, reading such a book could possibly help guide them in how to begin their new life but I don't find this book to be captivating or uplifting enough to even truly help a new believer. For someone who has had an established faith for some time, or needs something worth studying to renew/reinvigorate them, it does nothing any Sunday school teacher cannot provide--a basic understanding of faith.
With that said, it is a quick read, and worth giving a shot, if you've always been a bit interested in seeing what the book has to possibly offer. I gave it a read in high school because it was sitting on my parent's bookshelf, and soon found it to be about as useful to me--who has had an established faith in God and been a member of a church for years--as perhaps a very vague/self-soothing, self-help book would for someone who can coach themselves just fine. It does have nice sentiments, but doesn't do or say anything beyond that.
