TA and his partner are suddenly forced to move their current investigation forward as they work to discover who was responsible for supplying drugs to the current Hollywood "It" boy who was killed when he took a cocaine induced fall off a hotel balcony. TA soon finds himself inside the "good ole boys" network of Charleston high society and the drug scene that has ties to the past TA is trying to put behind him.
TA is a complex character that walks a very fine line and you wonder just how he's able to keep it together. Between the lies he must tell as he poses undercover with the drug dealers to having some of those dealers put a hit out on you, it makes you wonder why it is he does what he does. Even when he finds a woman who manages to ease the pain of his past and make him think of the future again, he has to let her go for the benefit of his case.
The storyline is intriguing and keeps you in it's grip as you turn each page to find out what TA will discover next.
