Twenty years after a wealthy British financier disappears near the site of a lost fabled city, the man's daughter leads an expedition of scientists in search of the city, which harbors a powerful but dangerous energy source.
I was swept up by the story, it did flag in places and it felt like it had a bit too much padding and that some of it could have been edited out without the story suffering at all. Yes many of them are interesting but they could have landed on the cutting room floor without too much problems. One piece that could have been ruthlessly cut was the two men in love with one of the women. There was no tension or build-up in it and I didn't see much romance there.
Not a bad read, full of ramped up conspiracy, pre-history technology.
