Midnight in Austenland is the sequel novel to Austenland by Shannon Hale. It wasn't the best and it came off as very self indulgent and maybe a bit self-inserty? Charlotte, the MC, has been divorced for a few months and is struggling so she goes to Austenland for a holiday, to get away from it all. She's involved with a murder which she is the only one who bleieves it to be real until towards the end and much like the first book the MC finds someone to fall in love with and wait, they live happily ever after.
It was slow to get off the ground, I struggled to read the first hundred odd pages of the novel but it did pick up once the plot started to move. I think my main problem was that besides the murder mystery that was ongoing it was really quite similar to the first novel. In many ways I just don't see why she wrote it. I think Austenland was enough on its own when it came to it.
