Jokes on You brings us the weird double twin love quadrilateral that we have all been waiting for (well, those of us who have been reading this series anyway)! Let me say: I went into this book with a lot of icky feelings about the idea of the hero, Booth, having a baby with the heroine's twin sister (Delanie). That whole "sleeping with your sister's ex" is weird enough, but throw in a baby and I was just already giving a hard side eye to this book.
Now, having told you I was side eyeing hard, I will say that Vale handles it well. There wasn't any type of relationship between Booth and Delanie; they had sex one time. Also, something happened to them and they really weren't in full awareness. It is still weird to me for Dillan to be aunt and step-mom to Booth and Delanie's son, Asa, but if there ever was a case where I would be okay with a sister dating her twin's baby daddy, its this one. Delanie is also totally fine with it and she makes it clear she has never had any feelings for Booth.
That wasn't the biggest problem Dillan and Booth faced in Jokes On You. You learn early on Dillan has a creep for a friend. Also, her dad is a complete jerk. These two characters combined were rage inducing for sure!
Fans of single parent romances, crazy stalkers, and dysfunctional families will enjoy Jokes on You for its delightful characters and enough drama/danger to keep things moving.
