The main character, Portia Harding, uses science as an excuse not to accept things that aren't normal and is quite argumentative. Actually she comes across as being quite like a lot of my scientist friends. She's not quite a sympathetic character and when she's given some magical powers and bumps into a quite hot vampire things are never going to be quite the same.

It's the kind of book that works if you put your brain in park but has serious issues if you start thinking about things. As a light story it's good but it's definitely one I won't be hunting up to add to my collection.
