Delilah: The Making of Red by Jessica Sorensen

Delilah: The Making of Red (Breaking Nova, #2.5)

by Jessica Sorensen

Delilah Peirce: the Invisible Girl. Men crane their necks around Delilah just to catch a glimpse of her bombshell mother. Delilah knows looks of indifference, of friendship -- but never of desire.

Then she meets Dylan Sanderson, the impossibly gorgeous guy who thinks she's beautiful. When he looks at her, she feels needed. When he kisses her, her troubles disappear. And when he tells her he will never hurt her, she believes him . . .

I knew Delilah was a lot more interesting than Nova! The Making of Red is a very short peek in teenage Delilah's life. She always feels invisible, since her mom is more concerned with her man of the hour, and all the boys she know only have eyes for her hot mom. Then she meets Dylan, and her world is turned upside down. I never would have thought Delilah was so sweet and innocent before. Dylan has truly ruined her life. We just see their meeting and first official date, but dang, it's immediately clear that this relationship is going to be toxic. I do wish that we had gotten a little bit of her life now. There is one line that had me going "wait, what?!" It definitely had me eager for the next book!
