I liked the characters but had to drop a star because things just progressed way too fast. Not the fact of Max and Alec's relationship - they had been aware of each other for years - but the lightning-fast dive into D/s. I'm not against reading D/s and I have been known to enjoy reading some Daddy-kink but finding out about and agreeing to such a lifestyle while in bed the first time mere days after meeting outside the classroom for the first time was just too much. For such an important decision I would expect a more serious and detailed negotiation.
