4 stars for the first half. 3 for the second half.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half, the flashbacks were endearing and the storyline had almost a magical feel, but I felt lost as soon as the sexual relationship began. As I mostly read young adult novels that contain an innocent intimacy, it was too graphic for my taste, but new adult readers will love the passion and be swept away.

Personally, If A Veil of Glass and Rain was rebranded with a sexy cover and professionally edited, it could potentially attract the same new adult audiences as an Abbi Glines, Molly McAdams or a Jamie McGuire fan, but the cover gives away that independent type feel.
