The one thing I can say for Bowen and the Ivy Years series: It's like Degrassi, it goes there. A very important topic was discussed and illustrated in this book -- sexual consent. I was talking about this book with my college aged daughter, and she thought it was great that there was information about Title 9 discussed, and attention given to such an important topic.
Now, the story. This story brought together DJ and Liane. Both were having a rather miserable year at Harkness, yet together, it was better. These two were quite adorable. They helped each other dig deep, and express their worries and fears, and they also supported each other. I loved seeing Liane come out of her shell, and DJ was just so sweet and supportive. I also loved the way Bowen dropped the names of all of our favorite past heroes and heroines. Most made an appearance, but even those that were not physically there were mentioned (my fave -Corey!).
A fine addition to the Ivy Years series.
