This may have been a relatively short read at only around 24,000 words, but it was certainly fulfilling and enjoyable. The writing is rich, descriptive, and flows wonderfully; you can really tell that Knight knows exactly what's she doing when she put pen to paper. Olivia is a great character who is in a pity inducing situation being married to a much older man whom she only marginally cares for. To make matters worse she is having some very scandalous dreams about the oh so dreamy Tristan. What is a girl to do? Don a mask and go to a erotic ball, duh...I have to say that ball was a fantastic idea on Knight's part both in the sensuality and the way it brought Olivia and Tristan together. Despite it being so short you do get a sense and feel for who the characters are, you understand their situations, and more importantly you can build a bit of a connection. Which is fantastic! I have read some shorts where the plot is nothing but sex and the people basically faceless tools. That's not the case here. The sex scenes are thought out and written very well, the sensuality is definitely there. The characters are intriguing and I can honestly I would not be opposed to read a full length book featuring them. While the plot contains a great deal of sex it's not just some mindless situation and I think that makes the whole thing better.

Overall this is the perfect short read when you have some free time to relax. It's short and pretty steamy, and you may even learn the sensuality of the grape. This comes out relatively soon so make you check it out.

I received this from Carina Press and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
