Rescuing The Bad Boy (Second Chance, #2)

by Jessica Lemmon

The man who stole Sofie Martin's heart is back in town. And demanding she find a venue for her client's wedding other than his newly inherited mansion. But Sofie isn't about to give in to the man who's taken too much from her already.

Donovan Pate left the wealthy lakeside Ohio town seven years ago, never to return. But he finds himself working alongside Sofie, the only girl who ever saw through his bad-boy facade.

When a blizzard traps them in the mansion, and in each other's arms, Donovan and Sofie begin to wonder if Evergreen Cove has more than something temporary in mind.

Something...like forever.

I'm in the midst of a major book hangover thanks to Rescuing the Bad Boy. I'll admit that I had a hard time with Donovan. But I truly loved the way Sofie came back into his life and simply loved him. Lemmon has a way of simplifying what her characters need from each other. I love that! She doesn't make it complicated and she also lets her characters take a natural path to each other without throwing a lot of uneeded obstacles and drama for them to get through first.

And that epilogue? Tears.
