I love this book! It is a great first debut novel for this author, and I am a fan. I loved the depth of the characters, the description of the world. The author did a great job of laying out Evelyn’s character in the real world before she travels to the new land.

Jerris is by far my favorite character; he has many layers to his personality. I had to laugh out loud when the name of the horse was finally revealed as he has the same name as my roommate, Leif. This story is thoroughly entertaining and a great novel for teens and adults who love adventure.
