I'm a huge fan of Arden's Bear and the Nightingale trilogy, so I was excited to see she had a middle-grade book. I bought it for my daughter when it first came out, but finally got around to reading it myself. And, not surprisingly, I really like it. The characters are great, and there is no talking down to them or the reader...something many authors struggle with. It's a fun, creepy read about family, friendships, love, and scarecrows 😁
