Is the Brandywine Inn a safe place to stay or not?
Cordial Killing by Vikki Walton is a must read for anyone that loves cozy mysteries. I finished this novel in a day, and it was super.
Ms. Walton did a fabulous job on intertwining these amazing characters together. This book is the first of Vikki Walton's that I have read. I am glad that to have the opportunity to read this book. I know I say that I a lot but I do mean it.
What I liked:
- I didn’t get who the killer was right away. I love having a book that keeps me guessing on who did it and when.
- Another thing that I liked about this book is that the Inn is in an old Victorian home. I have always adored those types of homes.
- It is entertaining. I kept thinking about the book even when I wasn’t reading it.
- I did like the fact that Kandi is in her twenties and is a big part of this business endeavor with Hope and Anne.
- The last thing I liked is the knowledge that the author put into the book.
What I didn’t like:
The things I didn’t like about Cordial Killing by Vikki Walton is that not all the kids in my generation talk like Kandi does. I found it was annoying after awhile. It might have helped if I read the first book to know if that is how she is or a choice she made. There are some sentences that didn’t sound right, but I was able to fix them in my head. By doing that it didn’t take me out of the book.
Five Stars
Cordial Killing by Vikki Walton is an excellent novel and great mystery. I finished it very fast since, so a quick read. I liked all the characters despite some of them getting a bit on my nerves. This book is an excellent way to get to know a new author and I am grateful for the opportunity to be on the blog tour Cordial Killing. I even tried a recipe so check it out. I am giving this book a five-star rating, and I am recommending it to anyone that likes cozy mysteries.
