In the literal manner of the young, she sets off to find this Jesus she has been hearing about in church. While misguided, she is earnest about her quest and doesn't allow interruptions from anything or anyone!

I like that the author shows Penelope's single-mindedness. We all should have that type of singlemindedness when we approach a relationship with Jesus the Christ.

I would have wished for simpler language, however, with the churchy language, the author makes an important point.

When we as adults speak about God, we have to make it like RSS* i.e. plain for the youngest in the congregation. We know that if they get it, the rest of us will also.

I am so intrigued with the writing of the author Peaches Dean and the illustration of Mike Motz** that I have already purchased another of her books and will be handing off my copy of Penelope B's Great Mission to my daughter for my grandson.

So, does Penelope accomplish her great mission? I'm not telling, get a copy of the book, you won't regret it!

** I am not sure if he is her illustrator for the new book. He did an excellent job with this book.
