This is a sexually charged story about a second chance at love. A lot has changed in the ten years since Colleen Bryant and Chase Fairwood have seen each other. Ten years ago, Colleen she was madly in love with Chase, a professional football player, but they broke up and Colleen married a much older, rich man. Colleen is now a rich widow and has the money to do whatever she wants. So she now enjoys an alternate lifestyle where she’s a dominatrix at a BDSM club she owns.

Things have also changed for Chase in the last ten years. Two years ago an unexpected knee injury sidelined he and now he’s in constant pain, he misses playing football and is still trying to figure out what to do with his life. The one thing Chase knows for sure is Colleen is the biggest mistake he’s ever made. I was impressed with Chase’s perseverance. He’s determined to get Coleen back. Unfortunately, Colleen isn’t interested in seeing him. Chase hurt her and Colleen doesn’t want anything to do with him and wishes he would stop bothering her. Colleen agrees to see Chase just to get him out of her hair. She’s sure once he sees the lifestyle she’s into, it will scare him away. Colleen cares about Chase but doesn’t trust him and is afraid to give him her heart again.

Even though I don’t like reading about submissive men, this story worked for me because Chase really isn’t a submissive at heart. Colleen insists on dominating Chase and he’s willing to do anything to get back together with her, so he agrees. The problem is he’s a macho guy, who likes to be in control, so he has to work hard to be submissive and he keeps messing up. Chase and Colleen are still dealing with issues from their past relationship and are constantly fighting and making up. Chase has a short fuse and loses him temper and asks questions later and it gets in the way of their relationship. There is romance and suspense included in this book along with a lot of kink. I enjoyed this provocative story and liked Chase and Colleen. Colleen appears tough but she also has a softer side and Chase shows how confident he is when he agrees to give up control.
