I love how the author portrays the female characters: we have Arianna, who's a fighter but she's definitely too impulsive and rushed, there's Florence, who's an idealist but she's not practical most of the time, we have Petra, a new POV, who I LOVE, she's a politician AND a fighter, but she's greedy and she thinks too much of herself and lastly we've got Cosetta, my favorite of the bunch, who's dismissed by everyone because she's frail and ill, but actually she's an evil badass!
My only two problems with this book were:
- the misconception that to be strong and independent and cool you need to be emotionally detached (see Arianna's behavior). You can love and care while being awesome and kickass, no one is stopping you.
- Most of Florence's chapters: I love the girl but her adventures were boring and almost useless. There could have been just 3 chapters from her POV and it would have been way better!
Anyway, 4 stars! Cool concept, cool world, cool characters!
