Deadly Weapon, despite being fiction, was a scary reminder of what is taking place in our world today. It showed the depth of research Nolan undertook prior to writing this book. I loved how he combined actual events with fiction, which enhanced the reading experience.
Trouble follows Jake wherever he goes, and this time was no different. Non-stop action, suspense, thrills enough to keep me on the edge of my seat as I watch Jake and Cody race against the clock to stop the threat to humanity.
Amidst the seriousness of the mission, Nolan treated his readers to some light and romantic moments. Jake and Sara’s relationship has grown. She has come to terms with Jake’s classified assignments, and it pleased me to see how much they have grown as a couple. Then there were the scenes which had me laughing, especially the ones featuring Cody.
There is not much more I can say without risking spoilers; besides one needs to experience this story for oneself. So, in concluding if you are a fan of thrillers and suspense stories, then Deadly Weapon would make a great addition to your library. Now I will have to wait until March 2021 to learn what trouble Jake will find himself in once again.
