Ever have the feeling that the fates finally got it right? That's how sorcerer's daughter Chloe Hobbs felt when she met Luke MacKenzie. And no one could have convinced her otherwise - not the trolls selkies or spirits who also call Sugar Maple Vermont home. But out of nowhere Luke's ex-wife has suddenly shown up claiming to see the spirit of their daughter Steffie - a daughter that Chloe knew nothing about.
Read it today while waiting to be discharged from hospital after a procedure on my lower back. Damned cannula in my hand stopping knitting, also high fuzziness from the anesthetic.
I did enjoy this, not sure if I've read book 1 in this series, all about a human sheriff and his lover who used to be powerless and without whom the town of Sugar Maple, Vermont would be all-too visible to mundane humanity. Into this mix comes his ex-wife and the ghost of their daughter who is being used as a pawn by a certain Fae leader. Also has a lot of knitting references.
