I’m a bit conflicted on how to rate this one. I think I’m going to stick with the 4 star rating, because I like where they’re heading on the whole. I had a couple of complaints, but on the whole they’re actually fairly minor so I’m okay with letting them slide.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how varied the Green Lantern Corps is. That’s actually one of the reason I keep hoping for a non-human main character for GL, but I digress. There are so many other creatures and races that are in the corps, and they come from all over. So it makes sense that they don’t always, well make sense to us. Okay, I’m done with my commentary on that end, I promise.
There’s a lot going on in this issue, from showing us different perspectives to having Hal interact with other (newer) GLs (more of that please). It was nice seeing different parts of the work, so I was thrilled for the insight.
One last thing before I wrap up this review: I’m really enjoying the art style for this series. It’s a bit rougher and more stylized, but that lends so well to the more organic look of all the different races shown. It’s actually perfect, when you stop and think about it.
