Glory Martine has inherited her uncle's Florida souvenir shop, one stuffed with collectibles, mementos of times gone by--and ghosts--who, like her customers, refuse to let go of the past. But things take an even more unexpected turn when a local football hero dies far too suddenly and suspiciously. Now, Glory has to uncover the truth before someone makes her history...
I wasn't sure about this book, as I have to admit, I didn't like the title at all. But it was a mystery with a ghost that takes place in my home state of Florida, so I gave it a try. I'm sure glad I did. A strong debut, in my opinion. The characters all sound interesting enough that I want to stick around and watch them develop, the setting is well sketched out and the plot/murder mystery was a good one. The ending wasn't a surprise to me, but neither was I able to guess which suspect was the murderer. I also really liked that the main character, Glory, didn't go around "interrogating" everyone in a wholly unrealistic fashion.
I love the bad mouthed parrot and I'm really looking forward to the next book.
