Okay, that's the way to end a series! The last book ended on a bit of a cliff, so I was eager to jump in and I'm glad I did. The last 25% was gripping and I really couldn't stop (thankfully I didn't have to).
If you've read my other reviews of this series, you may recall that Georgina frustrates me. She is not my most favorite heroine. She just is frustrating in that she knows so little about her world and she makes very immature decisions -- in both cases, especially because of her age. And Seth -- I liked him and then he made some really bad decisions (repeatedly) and I liked him less. So yeah - not my favorite hero either. And that's why this is a 4.5 vs 5 star read. I wasn't as invested in the main characters and eagerly hoping for their HEA.
That said, I also didn't want them to not get their HEA. And I was so curious about Gerogina's contract situation. I have to admit, I was impressed with Richelle Mead when pieces started coming together - we've been getting hints and tidbits all along and I didn't realize it. It was really neat to see it all come together. And when things started moving it was like a sprint to the finish line - in a good way. Just lots of layers unfolded in really neat ways.
Also, I really enjoyed so many of the secondary characters and was glad to see more of them in this book. Particularly Seth's family. But also Roman (who really grew on me over the course of the series). And the vampires. And Carter. LOL! I feel like I can't say much more without spoiling things. But I like a lot of the secondary characters and wouldn't mind a spin off series.
The narration was a great point for this series. Elisabeth Rodgers delivers a really solid performance for all the characters, adding personality and making this a fun quick read for me!
