I was taken by surprise with this book and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I was expecting the story to be heavier on the science fiction but that wasn't a detriment to the story. The characters, their lives, their choices, their heartaches, were what kept you invested, and the twist of science fiction helped propel it all along. Never though I'd read a 500+ book so fast.
