Honor Reclaimed by Tonya Burrows told a beautiful story about an ex-soldier struggling to find his new normal after the end of his military career. Having spent eighteen months in captivity Seth Harlan suffers from PTSD but he is rebuilding his life and hoping to be successful in his new career working for HORNET. His new job takes him back to Afghanistan, the place of his previous captivity, and on a collision course with photojournalist Phoebe Leighton.
In addition to the romance between the hero and the heroine there was action, suspense, and a heartbreaking case of PTSD. The action in this book is present from the very beginning, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end, and really enhanced the storyline. The PTSD, which is the Seth’s biggest obstacle, is handled with care and compassion and showed the realistic struggle that people with the disease encounter every day. The best aspect of the novel was the romance between Seth and Phoebe. I admired the way that Phoebe had improved her life after a series of bad choices, and she proved to be a perfect match for Seth.
