Midnight Games is another book in Elle Kennedy’s suspense series about Trevor and Isabel. Although it can be read as a standalone I would highly recommend reading the other books because you will have a better understanding of the backstory and how they work, especially Trevor’s story. Isabel is like a chameleon, and used to hiding her identity, something that brings her directly in Trevor’s sights when he needs help with his current case.
All the women of this series have a take no prisoners mentality, and Isabel is no difference. She is one of the best at her job and makes no apology for it, because she’s so used to hiding her true personality. Trevor lost his wife in the first book of the series, and his journey to another relationship is both heartbreaking and exhilarating to watch. He is able to see the real Isabel, and she is able to help him heal from his tragedy, making them a perfect match for each other. This was one of my favorite books of the series, and I look forward to the reading the rest of them. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books.
