Another great "Not Quite" book. This series and all its inhabitants, are quickly becoming one of my favorites.

In this book, we catch up with Monica. She is now a full-on nurse and decides to join a relief effort in Jamaica, which has been hit by an earthquake and tsunami. While there, see meets Trent, aka Barefoot. There is not a lot you can say past this point without revealing big plot points, which I don't do.

Why I liked it:
-Since "Not Quite Dating", we have known Monica to be headstrong, focused, no nonsense, determined, and self reliant. In this book, she is still all of those things, but we get to see a softer side of her as she grows into her emotional self. She begins to acknowledge things about herself that had fueled her self-destructive love life behaviors. It was great to see.
-Trent. Love him! Another great male character with a huge heart, wounded, but still huge. He and Monica grow and heal together and they have such a lovely easy way with each other.
-This is a great homage to nurses and relief workers. You are able to spend a little time in the head of an ER nurse/relief volunteer and really appreciate all they deal with and all they do.
-The drama got real in this book. I cannot lie, I got a little nervous at one point and worried for the characters. Great stuff.
-I just love catching up with all our other "Not Quite" friends. I love the series that incorporate old characters and let me check in with them.
