Hawthorne & Heathcliff

Other than a couple words used at the beginning of this story, I was REALLY liking it. It is extremely well written and the story is beautifully haunting.

At about halfway through, though, there was a party. And underage drinking and drugs. And sexual exploration, which wasn't necessarily described in detail, but there was enough. And shortly afterwards, Hawthorne told Heathcliff she wanted him to make love to her.

I'm sorely disappointed in the direction this book has gone. I really want to finish it to see what happens, but will not because of these things.
