Book three.

Hmm. The way the authors re-tell the story from the previous book is getting tedious. They drag it out and try make it a part of the story as if the readers don't already know what's happened. I'm pretty sure no one is going to start reading The House of Night Series from the third book. And I'm sure that the explanation doesn't need to take so long to go over. It's just annoying and makes the readers feel like they're being talked to like they're a little kid or as if they're stupid.

When I first started reading this series I loved how mature all the characters were, I loved that Zoey was so independent. I loved that there was excitement for a potential romance and a mystery. In book three all of this is thrown out of the window, Zoey has three boyfriends which seems kind of silly and the fact is she leans on all of them for support. Erik her vampyre boyfriend starts acting jealous, which I get, but it's in such an immature and unsexy way that it makes me roll my eyes and wonder where the confident sexy Erik from book one went. After all he is nineteen. Not sixteen. Heath and their 'relationship' is just plain annoying. And we can all tell there's something highly suspicious about Loren. But of course Zoey is too mesmerized by his sexiness to notice. It gets highly annoying.

Zoey's 'friendship' with Aphrodite is also getting annoying. It's obvious they trust each other yet they both act like they hate each others guts. I guess I find this rather immature. The way the twins talk just gets on my nerves. And Damien is still cute. But he alone can't save my opinion from the other characters.

So I feel like all I've done is complain. Well that's because so many things about this book annoyed me. All of these things were in book one and that was fine because we hadn't read them yet, there were in book two which was okay because it was only the second book. Now it's book three and it's getting very repetitive and annoying.

But I still was entertained by the story. I read this book in one night. And I didn't skim anything. It was a good read apart from all the annoyances I labelled above. Although this story felt like it was based more on romance rather than the actual story which I didn't like.

I guess I also find that the time periods of these books are a little weird. They happen over a few days. Relationships start and end in three days. It's just weird. Why not over a week or two at least?

The ending was rather interesting though. So interesting that I'm all geared up to read book four even though I had planned to read something else next. On the book four! And here's hoping that it's written a lot better than this book!
