True North by Nikki Jefford

True North (Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter, #6)

by Nikki Jefford

To survive, I must accept who I am and embrace the cold.

I've spent the past year fighting for survival, freedom, and justice. Now I'm facing the biggest battle of my life. Field agents are turning up dead and everyone is working to stop Jared before he starts a full-blown war between vampires and hunters.

Fane's love and support have never been stronger. My feelings for him are as constant as the North Star, but our future is teetering on thin ice.

I would sacrifice everything to protect my family and friends. Even if that means sacrificing myself.

The explosive final Aurora Sky volume will blow you away!

True North was a mostly satisfying conclusion to what has been a super fun series. Aurora and Company are set to capture Jared once and for all. Of course, it's not that simple. He seems to outsmart them at every turn. All Aurora wants is to spend Christmas with her family and then travel the world with Fane. She can't do that when she's constantly looking over her shoulder. Or being kidnapped and held hostage.

It's always hard reviewing the final book in a series. I don't want to give too much away to anyone anticipating the finale or to someone who has yet to start the series. True North is a pretty typical ending though. There are definitely surprises along the way, but I had no doubts about how it would actually end. The ending was fitting though and left me smiling.

What let me down about True North was about that ending came about. Or really events leading up to how that ending came about. If that even makes sense. Like I mentioned earlier, Aurora gets herself kidnapped, but I wasn't really buying how she got there. At first, I was thinking that Jared has no reason to kidnap her and keep her with him. It seemed like a convenient way to have Aurora do some butt kicking. But later another character says something that me scratching my head. That made more sense, but also not really. It was just a weird situation.

True North was still a good, fun read though. I enjoyed being back with Aurora and Fane and Noel and Dante. I do wish there had been a bit more Dante at the end. He's had a rough go, and I'd have liked to have seen more of him finding his happy ending.
