Initial thoughts: Of the four books I've read by Jennifer E. Smith, Windfall is my favourite so far. The friendship dynamic among the trio of Alice, Leo and Teddy was heartwarming, especially with Alice and Leo who were cousins raised in the same household. The plot itself was generally predictable, but still well-developed. While I can't say I was a fan of Teddy, I was glad to see his growth throughout the book. Alice, too, became more grounded, and I related to her inner conflicts about the meaning of home.
