I love, love, love this series! I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first but that’s pretty typical for me since the first books are almost always the best. I like how there’s a whole new setting for this book since Yelena is banished from Ixia. I really enjoyed watching her journey from one place to another while trying to learn magic AND meeting her real family for the first time. There’s so many new things in this book and it makes it really exciting.

What I didn’t like in this book was how everyone treated Yelena like she’s the best at everything so the rules don’t apply to her. I know she’s great at a lot of things but everyone puts her up on this platform and it’s a little strange to me. I found Yelena wasn’t quiet the same character as in the first book. She doesn’t use her brain as much as she used to. It’s not that bad though because I still loved this book and can’t wait to read more.
