Romance Rekindled (Heartsong Presents, #1100)

by Kimberly Rose Johnson

"The small-town CPA can't forget how Blake Mitchell jilted her and left their hometown without an explanation. But when her first love returns to Leavenworth, the ruggedly handsome writer evokes conflicting emotions, especially when Susan meets the child she assumes is his daughter. Since his parents' deaths six years ago, Blake's been raising his little sister on his own. But he's never forgotten the woman he left behind. Now, he can't undo the past, but maybe he can change the future ... if he can convince Susan to give him one more chance"--Page 4 of cover.

A Rekindled Romance by Kimberly Rose Johnson

In A Rekindled Romance, Susan made a snap judgment based on partial information and it tore her apart until she learned the truth. She had to learn some very important lessons about trust and forgiveness, which is only natural considering the pain she carried.

Poor Blake had so many troubles! Starting with falling off a ladder, it all went downhill from there, all while trying to earn back trust and forgiveness from Susan. I really liked him and the way he was so real and imperfect.

The pace of the story was quite good. I often get frustrated with books where one of the characters spends the entire time refusing to forgive another, and though it took quite a while for Susan to do just that, it worked here and made sense.
