My Review Of
Murder with Cucumber Sandwiches
This is the 3rd installment in this wonderful cozy mystery series, it is my first book that I have read in this series but this book may be read as a standalone.
Let me say that I truly enjoyed the small town feel of this book and I felt like I was sitting at a table in Daisy’s Tea Garden, because that is how descriptive the author is in every scene of the tea shop, in fact I could even envision the china that the tea and food is served on.
What I liked about this book was of course the mystery of who killed the seemingly nasty restaurant critic Derek Schumaker who visits Daisy’s Tea Garden and puts fear into everyone of receiving a bad review from him.
The list of suspects is long and not without some red herrings thrown in to put me off track. I enjoyed the budding romance between Daisy and Jonas who seem to be taking things very slow.
While the main focus of the book is the mystery of who killed Derek Schumaker, there is a bit of a side story with Daisy's daughter Jazzi who is hoping to connect with her birth-mother, Daisy remains supportive of Jazzi although I felt that this must be hard for Daisy but Daisy is ever the supportive mother, friend and employer.
In the end a shocker as to who the killer was! This book is full of surprises and secrets. I felt very connected to the characters, especially Daisy and I look forward to binge reading on books 1 & 2.This review was originally posted on Fictional Reviewer
