During my high school years, I used to enjoy this series. My nostalgic self reads books I used to read while I was in high school. It seems like I should regret my decision.

The book is very predictable, and it lacks details and description. The plot moves quickly, and characters change their minds with brief discussion. It would have been nice to know why the main character changed their opinion about cheerleading.

The author didn’t even try to establish a background for the world. It’s just normal to have werewolves, vampires, witches, and psychics there. One good thing about this book is that it is short. There is a lack of detail in the Dead Is series. Even though the series is categorized as Supernatural/Mystery, it did not have enough mystery.

Overall, it’s not a bad read. As a reader myself, I am guilty of rereading the books repeatedly if I like them. Just be aware it lacks conflict and its main character deals with self-pity a lot. Most of the time.
