H. P. Lovecraft was one of the greatest horror writers of all time. His seminal work appeared in the pages of legendary Weird Tales and has influenced countless writer of the macabre. This is one of those stories.
The Alchemist is one of Lovecraft’s lesser known titles, and I can see why. It’s not bad by any means, however it’s very straightforward horror and has a plot that is easy to see the end of. I did really enjoy the imagery though and find that to be one of his strongest attributes. Despite being rather predictable it is a fun short story and still capable of bring on a set of chills. And despite this cover being cthulhu, this short story has nothing to do with the Eldar Gods .
