Mamie Greene is adventurous, witty and has a soft spot for those less fortunate. She finds mischievous ways to gain funds to help women downtown who struggle financially.
She also starts feeling attraction for Frank Tripp, her dad's exceptional lawyer, but her father will never approve of any man for his beloved daughter, only the man betrothed to her since childhood, who is the son of another wealthy family.
Frank is dazzled and intrigued by Mamie, and when he starts following to protect her from her unconventional ways, he starts falling head over heels for her. But Frank hides secrets from his past that haunt him. If people found out, it may be the end for him in so many ways.
The Banter between Frank and Mamie was witty and entertaining! Their chemistry, passion and forbidden love was off the charts. I kept thinking how are they going to make it work when they have everything going against them?
Uptown Girls is a spin-off series of The Four Hundred series. It's inspired by the Schuyler Sisters. I honestly can't wait for the Joanna Shupe story! She's my top Gilded Age romance author!
I received an advance reader copy for my honest opinion from the publisher.
