So right off the bat Devour promised something different and slightly on the edge of being too much…and it delivered. The ‘deal with the devil’ angle was pretty interesting and I really liked how Sarah essentially chose her own price. After struggling to lose weight and get the body she’s always wanted she desperately tries one of those ‘miracle weight loss’ ads and gets way more than she bargained for. Her desperation has lead her directly into rather unusual situation and she unknowingly chose to become a succubus as the price for her now perfect form. I’ll be honest if you like vanilla sex scenes then this is definitely not for you, because there is one scene that is really far from normal. In fact some of it’s sort of harsh and the word choice is enough to make you wince. I’m hoping book two has the same amount of interesting back-story as this one did, though I honestly hope it doesn’t get too much weirder.
