The pace is slower as focus shifts more towards Ivy and Devon's relationship in this final book in the Tangled Ivy Trilogy. There is still plenty of intrigue, new secrets to uncovered and loose ends to be tied, as the protagonists look for answers.
I've struggled throughout the previous two books to personally identify with Devon and to actually like Ivy. So up until now, I haven't felt invested in them as a couple. This time round, their relationship felt palpable because the pretence and pretentiousness is gone. What is left are two damaged people who found and fell in love with each other, both doubting whether they have a future together...fighting for their lives. The drama takes us from Florida to the far north of Scotland. Betrayal is revealed, truths uncovered, with a dark cloud of uncertainty hanging over Ivy and Devon's future.
To sum up, I'll remember The Tangled Ivy series for the exciting suspenseful plot-line. Tiffany really knows how to pull the unexpected out of the bag. The romance was secondary for me and didn't hold my interest but became believable in the end.
Lastly, for fans of The Kathleen Turner Series, there is a nice Easter egg for you!
