Preservation (Preservation, #1)

by Rachael Wade

Fear is sabotage's sweetest weapon.

Kate has no time for meaningless romantic charades, and definitely no time for hot college professors who are full of themselves and smitten with her. Constantly battling eviction notices, tuition she can't afford, and a sick, dependent mother, the last thing she needs is to be distracted with someone else's complicated baggage.

When she stumbles into Ryan Campbell's creative writing class, he is only "Mr. Campbell" to her, until Ryan finds himself captivated by her writing and she is forced to face their mutual attraction. His cocky know-it-all syndrome is enough to send her running in the other direction, and his posse of female admirers and playboy reputation are enough to squander any odds in her favor.

But underneath Ryan's abrasive facade is something to behold, and she can't stay away for long. Ryan and Kate must decide who they're willing to become and fight against their former selves if they want to make things work. That's if academia, vicious vixens, old skeletons, and their own mastery at self-destruction don't pummel their efforts first.

Ah, The Preservation Series, well here we go with the review!

Man, I swear it was like a war zone with Ryan and Kate in Preservation (and in Reservation, but more about that later)! If I were standing in front of them, my head would just go back and forth between them, just trying to keep up. Well it's pretty obvious they both have some pretty heavy baggage .. two people with all that junk and trying to be together, things can get messy quick. And a very high possibility of hearts breaking. Just about as quick as their relationship started, it was instant, even though all leads were a big N-O for Kate. People and their decision-making tactics, I tell ya. Ryan has his playboy ways and it's what he has known for years, can he truly give it all up? Kate is use to people leaving her in the dust, has it gotten any easier for her? No. When it comes to Ryan can she forget all of his ways and accept it?

I was ROYALLY pissed at Ryan in the first book (actually I was pissed at him a lot during the first two books), red flag waving ... SKY HIGH! Kate should have just sent a big eff you and gone on her way. But love is strong between the two of the and they get their happy ending.
