Preston Chandler had been a naughty boy in his youth. His past transgressions come back to bite him when he spurns his childhood friend, Raven. She turns out to be an amateur witch. Raven attempts her revenge by placing a sleeping spell on the person Preston loves most, his younger sister, Ana.

Through riddles and shoes, Preston is led to the library where Celinda works. In his desperation to retrieve the slipper, Preston causes Celinda unintentional pain. He realizes she might be the key to figuring out the riddles Raven has conjured to torture him.

This twist on the tale of Cinderella is an astonishing narrative perfect for the new millennium. Told in third person point of view, we get a exceptional glimpse into both Preston and Celinda's mindsets throughout the story. My heart ached for the view Celinda had of herself. She knew how beautiful she was, but because of the evilness so prevalent in the world, she hid her beauty away. I loved how Preston was able to bring that side of her out again and in the process find the one thing he hadn't been looking for. Love.

This is the first novel I have read from Selena Fulton and it certainly won't be the last. The story captivated me from beginning to end. Celinda and Preston's chemistry could be felt coming off the page. It is a story about finding out who you truly are and taking the courage to be that person.
