I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review."Cold Spite" marks the fifth installment in Toni Anderson's acclaimed Cold Justice: Most Wanted series. Anderson once again captivates her readers with a thrilling story. One that they will find irresistible, especially those who have a soft spot for stories about second chances at love.

In "Cold Spite," Anderson plunges her readers into a thrilling chase of wits between the protagonists and a vengeful ex-Navy SEAL. Delilah and Cas past undercover mission to dismantle a drug cartel saw them falling in love with each other. Their partnership was formidable, yet Cas's insecurities drove a wedge between them, ending their romance and leaving both heartbroken.

Five years on, the shadow of danger looms again, bringing a vengeful figure from their past to their doorstep. Despite the wounds of their past, Cas is the only one Delilah knows she can rely on to keep her safe and defuse the looming threat. Regret lingers heavily, particularly for Cas. Delilah struggles to move past the hurt he inflicted. Yet, in the face of their current dangerous situation, their reunion paves the way for healing, thus offering them a shot at mending fences and embracing a second chance at a happy ending.

The story's suspense kept me riveted throughout. Delilah's feigned death and the antagonist's pursuit of Cas and others, whom he held responsible for his imprisonment, escalated the tension. As the plot unfolds, it's intriguing to ponder how the villain consistently remained a step ahead, leaving no trace behind.

The story came packed with twists, turns, and surprises at every corner. Filled with action and high-stakes drama, Cold Spite will keep you flipping through the pages, eager to see what's coming next.

Fans of romantic suspense will enjoy this latest offering from Toni Anderson. I look forward to the next book in the series. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
