I read this book with my 11 year old son and I really like the whole idea of just about every chapter they conjure a new dragon and it usually a dragon that helps them get out of whatever the problem for that current chapter is. I also like that they visited so many different places in the book that a times my son and i had to look up a variety of different things so that my child new what they look liked. Like the origami and the different buildings in the chapter where they visit the old man and his housekeeper. It was a very different book from what my son normally reads and i think at times it might have been a bit overwhelming to keep all the details straight for him but it was still an enjoyable read. Also it was fun to discuss some of the characters that were brought like dune and sherlock holmes which are from my generation but my son really had a vague idea of who they were.
