Everlasting is the final installment in the Immortals series. Ever must go on a journey to discover why Damon and she keep going in circles and why there or so many obstacles in their way of ever truly being together. In Summerland, Damon and Ever meet a woman, Lotus, who tells them that there is another way to immortality. Damon is skeptical and faces a choice of leaving his true love or going against what he believes to be the right path.

I love this series and I am very sad to see it end. It has come a long way since the angst-y girl in the hood in Evermore.

We’ve been with these characters since the first book and they have developed so lovely. Miles, though a minor part to play in Everlasting, was a favorite of mine and he truly shined. However, Ever and Damon both changed a bit. Damon did not seem like the gorgeous boy that I had fell in love with from book one. He was being unfair to Ever in a lot of ways and he didn’t seem at all like himself. Ever used to be full of angst and just the indifferent-shrugging type. She still shrugs more than anyone I know, but she seems way too immature in this one. Ever wasn’t relatable this way, whether it was her perspective that seemed so much more careful and more slower or that it was just how she developed, I could not connect with her.

A whole new cast arises when Ever takes her journey. Still, having a character named Alrik and then also having a character named Heath got me a bit confused. It brought me back to the movie, A Knight’s Tale, where Heath Ledger plays the character, Sir Alrik. Besides the confusion with the names, Ever’s journey is worthwhile and brings about a whole new spew of questions. It teaches, not only Ever, a lesson, but readers as well that we can take advice from an old lady in a swamp.

Finally having waited for the sixth book, it happened. The one thing, I am sure, a lot of people have been waiting for, finally happened. Ever and Damon finally did it.

The ending was sad because it was ending. I always hate when series end, that is why I wait so long to read the ending of series because it is bittersweet. Noel truly put her heart and soul in this series and she has given us something to enjoy forever. Everlasting ended with a note of finality, but also with beginning. Ever and Damon were embarking on a whole new chapter of their life. It was wonderful.

This one took the series to a new level and focused on raw emotions that readers will feel to their very core. It was fantastic and a perfect way to end a series.
