Ann Marie Walker has me hooked with this series.

At the end of REMIND ME, Ally had suffered the ultimate betrayal (or at least what she thought was). She discovered Hudson's company was on the verge of taking over her family's media empire, leaving her feeling used and unable to trust him. So when RELEASE ME opens with an event so unexpected, I had to wonder where the author was going to take us.

RELEASE ME, to me, was all about forgiveness and letting go. Hudson, Allie and even Hudson's brother, Nick, are all haunted by things that have happened to them. For some of them, those things are from the past that have molded who they became as adults. Others are breaking free of molds others created and figuring out who they want to be. But all of them have to forgive (either themselves or someone they love) and figure out a way to let go of those past hurts to move on. Some do it better than others, but as RELEASE ME ended, you could see where other have grown into trusting those they hold dear.

Hudson and Allie are still smoking the pages of this second book. The sex between these two is incredible, while at the same time somehow serves as a conduit for them to express their feelings to each other, even when they try their hardest not to show them. But you can see how things change with them and the level of trust and love build when they start to really burn things up.

I look forward to finding out how this series is going to end. I was surprised by the villain, but I can wait to hear what the rationale is behind the actions. I have a feeling the hero and heroine are in for quite a blow when this is all over. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books.
